Colors

Driven by passion and motivated by the vast amount of beauty and color the world has to offer, James found himself drawn into the arts and travel. Thanks to the love shown to him by his adoptive family, he was truly able to shine. As they were well off, he was able to get re-acquainted with the world. He could not believe that he had closed his eyes and heart off to so much. This ignited in him a yearning for more of the world’s beauty.

What he witnessed that morning at arboretum stuck with him and he could not stop thinking about it. For some reason, that girl’s tears seemed to stem for the deepest part of what true unbridled pain is. As he always did whenever something bothered him, he took to his tiny studio outside their home and started painting.

As he set his materials, he carefully went over the scene in his mind. Running through each detail of the girl’s colors. The colorless – silver of the teardrops that ran down her cheeks, the soft brown o her skin, the deep black of her hair, and her piercing light brown eyes. He laid out all the paints and brushes that he felt would help him best bring out the painting that was struggling to make it out of his mind and onto a canvas.

Once everything was set, he started off. While he did not have the full picture in his mind, he decided to let it take shape on its own as he worked. From the first stroke of the brush, he held her image in mind. That image which for some reason seemed to be branded in the back of his mind. As he worked, each color variation struck a chord somewhere deep within him.

“I wonder if I will ever see her again?” he thought to himself silently as he stared at the face taking shape under his brush.
