For some reason, we as humans are in a big part ruled by emotion. We let anger control us, sorrow overcome us and hatred dissolve us. But there is one emotion that seems to be at the center of all that’s good and bad in this world. And no, I don’t mean something as cliché as pain. I’m going to place a huge chunk of the blame on what we exalt to be the solution to all our problems. Love.
This cheeky emotion is capable of changing people. Or to be more accurate, bringing out the angel or demon lurking within us. Those parts of us which we try to hide or are not even aware we have. And the funny thing is that we never truly know what’s gonna come out ’till it’s too late. While she is a movie character, Harley Quinn is the best example of this. This woman went from being a renowned psychiatrist to a criminal so fast that it could make your head spin. I mean, she threw away everything she ever worked for because the Joker brought out her real self.

The hood thing about love is that it fits into the Chinese philosophy of yin and Yang quite snugly. It brings a delicate but sturdy balance to our inner selves and the world as a whole. Just think about it. There are people whose sole reason for remaining ‘good’ is someone or something they love. Take John Wick for example. The guy went from assassin to loving husband, then dog lover and back to assassin. Talk about a confused soul. And all this was because of the love he held for his late wife. Guess humans never truly change at a basic level. We adapt but remain the same at our cores.
It’s funny how this emotion is heralded as the cure to all problems in the world. When it is also responsible for most of what’s wrong with the world. How? Love hides itself in several vices and virtues. Take greed for example; at a basic level, it is simply an individual’s love for something. It could be money, power or attention to mention but a few. This love then drives them to do whatever it takes to get what they want regardless of what they have to get it. You will even find people committing atrocious crimes in the name of their love.
Like Bric and Lace once sang, “Love is wicked.” And we are all unfortunately at its mercy. Have you ever wondered what kind of demon or angel love could turn you into when it reveals your true self?

Love, just wierd.

I have wondered about that very much… Sometimes I want to find out.. Most of the times I am too scared to risk it. They say the bigger the risk, the bigger the crown.. Yes? But we can say that depends on the type of love….and how much we want it.

But you’ve already been in love. With your family and friends. And I’m betting you find it to be worth it.
Why not just dive in to kind of love you fear and see what happens? Love seems to be alot about luck and guesswork if you ask me. So the best way seems to be just doing it😁
